calling all knitters...

I really want to try to make my first sweater and I have an idea of what I want to do but can't seem to find a pattern that I like... I want to do something like this (its that kind of collar that I'm after...) but in a more feminine version.

Any ideas?

I need to update this blog with the socks I finally finished! I'll do that when I get home :-) I know you're all waiting with baited breath!

I have a kickass pattern from phildar that is like this. I wonder if I can find a pic of it for you online? Just a sec...

Damn cannot find it. I'll try and find it at home. If you don't hear back from me, it's because I'm an eejit and have forgotten but I will come through!

But have a look at the phildar site. You may find some love. Knitting in French isn't that difficult. In fact, I find it easier.

Also, have you been to ravelry?

www.ravelry.com is full of good luvin.

Wait. I'm assuming you're an expat but I don't know if I've been here before and I'm just basing my assumption on your MilkJam blog title. Maybe you don't speak french at all.

Hi

I can't help finding a pattern like this but I always look on ebay for inspiration.

I'm currently knitting my first jumper. half way through one side. It ain't no scarf. I could have knit everyone in Amiens a scarf in the time it's taken me to do 27 cm of jumper. I'm enjoying it loads though!

Good luck, and yes, my breathe is baited for the socks!! dépêche-toi! ;o)

@mrs. C you crack me up! yes, i am an expat (in Normandy!), i do speak french yet i can't seem to understand patterns in either language.. lol
i am signed up for ravelry but i haven't found the right sweater that i like and as i don't read patters well i don't know how i could modify it, i'm not quite the super knitter yet! thanks for all your help and if you do find it somewhere at home i'd looooove to take a look!

@emmy sock post coming right up! i really want to start a sweater but in the meantime i have a baby blanket to finish before the end of april (talk about long and repetative - perfect for in front of the tv though!) so i think i'll start after then... anyway after april i'll be unemployed (well i hope not but its the way things are looking now!) so i'll have loads of time

anyway thank you two very lovely ladies for your advice! :-)
