Last night Mystery Guest and I went to Caen to see Tété in concert. The original date was back in February but it was postponed (we think he had broken his arm) until May. This is the third time we've seen him in concert - the first was back in 2006 and the second a year later.
The only downside to the concert was the opening act, some guy who opened for him... He got up on stage, said nothing (no introduction, his name or anything) and proceeded to play a few songs. The thing that kills me (besides his incomprehensible English) is that he was so full of himself and not that great. I know a few friends who have been working so hard these last few years trying to get into the music scene and who have a million times more talent than he does and it's this guy who gets a break...
Anyway back to Tété who gave a fantastic performance, as always, once he came on stage. He played for a good hour and a half and had a good set list of older and newer songs.
Sorry for the poor quality but they were taken with my iPhone. The videos aren't too bad though!
For a final encore he gave us a preview of a new song! Love it when they do that!
All in all it was a great concert, he is so animated on stage and it makes for a fantastic evening :)
Last night a bunch of us got together for some taco salad (!!!) at my house and then walked down to the concert hall Friends style. (there were 5 of us, Joey was MIA we decided... and apparently I'm Phoebe! humm...)
We were off to see Tété! I just adore that guy, he's so funny and has such great music. By the time he finished (there were 3 different performers) I was just knackered having only slept 4 hours the night before so Dartyman and I took off. Plus I enjoyed Tété so much I just wanted to end on that note, I would have bought the ticket only to see him, it was so worth it!!
In other news we found out that we can get the keys to the new appt Wednesday so we'll be moving Thursday! Anyone wanna carry boxes?? :-)
I just got home from a fantastic concert, Mystery Guest and I went to go see Tété here in Caen!!
I havn't been to that many concerts but it is so worth it to see such a wonderful preformance. He really is an entertainer in the literal sense of the word. A complete clown and goof on stage but with touching and catchy songs. I love his random dreads and funky glasses, great to see someone with a bit of spunk in their personality :-)
I'm too tired to write more and would be in bed but I think my upstairs neighbors are having a birthday party...
