YES!

Ah ha! Yes! I had a painless préfecture experience for a change! I had to stop by to pick up my temporary work permit and since I was there I decided to ask about how I need to go about renewing my current carte de séjour (which expires in June).

Luckly I got the nice guy who sits in the middle (ya'll know who I'm talking about, when there's 1 nice person you of course never are lucky enough to have your number land on him!) and he was really nice and gave me a rdv for June with a nice list of all the beautiful documents I'll need...

I was in and out in 20 minutes with my work permit and without feeling like crying afterwards. I'd say thats a positive préfecture experience!!!

way to go! and you get your work permit from the préfecture?? or is the DDTDE just located there?

I went to the DDTDE to get it but they said that for assistants they automatically send it to the prefecture and I need to pick it up there. For my other job I got it directly from the DDTDE... Wish they would have told me that back in November! The Rectorat has been harassing me for it but never told me WHERE to go! laaaame!

at least there does seem to be one nice one in the bunch of "others". just remember this time the next time you have a hell trip to the préfecture. not that i'm saying you will, but the odds around here...

ah yes, the rain. after growing up in portland/vancouver, wa and living in vancouver, bc for 8 years i know a little something about the rain. we don't get too much here in corsica and sometimes i do miss it. especially now in the springtime. although i am not complaining as the temp. here is currently 22 degrees.
